Car history: |
Up for auction is a 1968 Corvette Roadster Red with Red Interior, with a 427 4 Speed. A friend of mine has owned this car for many years. The last time it was registered was 1979. He started to restore the car in 97 and since then he has spent lots of money doing everything right. All the brake system, fuel tank and sending unit, engine was gone through and stayed standard bore, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing. has been done new. Bought new Idit Tilt Steering Colum, Aluminum heavy duty Radiator. The body was stripped and sealed and then came the tornado March 2 2012 and the building the car was in was completely removed. Amazingly the only damaged the car suffered was the passenger door was cracked and I have bought a replacement, and the original door is included. The factory dated hardtop is busted, but is included. And the big block hood was never found, but mostly everything else was in the car and is still there. This car has a really nice frame and body, with its original front end. Also has new rechromed rear bumpers and new front bumper. And as for the engine it is not original to the car, but was told it was put in the car in 1969. But old stories can get fuzzy. It is a 1968 Corvette engine, and never been decked. It has the rare square port heads and the 069 GM intake. This car runs great, it is in perfect tune. Correct Manifolds, I could go on and on about this car, but this is the perfect project car with all the hard work been done. If you do not see it in the pictures assume I do not have it, but there is some other stuff included so ask before you bid.
The title was last registered in 1979 and is still in the original owners name and he has signed it and thats the way you will receive it, alone with a bill of sale if needed.
This is a rare opportunity to have a 427 Roadster that is original Red, Red with White Soft Top, that has never been offered for sale before.
Im selling the car AS IS with no warranty.
I reserve the right to end auction early, I have the car offered for sale local.
